Sacramental Life

The Church is in history but at the same time, transcends it. It is only with the "eyes of faith" that one can see in her the visible, and at the same time, spiritual reality as the bearer of divine life (CCC 770).

By her seven Sacraments, she shares this life with the faithful. These sacraments touch all the stages and important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian's life of faith (CCC 1210).

Life in the Sacraments

"A sacrament is a remembrance of the past (Christ's Passion),  a proof of the present (grace), and a promise of the future (eternal life)."    – St Thomas Aquinas

Faith Formation is a lifelong process and pursuit to attain true life in the sacraments.  St. Dorothy's offers opportunity for instruction at every age.

Parents are the first and best teachers of our children. Our parish Faith Formation program supplements and assists parents in their primary role of preparing their children to worthily receive the Sacraments. Classes are offered for children from pre-k through 8th grade. Children receive instruction and specific preparation for First Confession, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

Hank Kaczmarek's Post Confirmation Apologetics welcomes all students who have been confirmed. The sessions aim to strengthen and continue formation for those who have received Confirmation in a more casual setting between Sunday Masses.

Please contact Mrs Dyann Maldonado our Director of Faith Formation for more information.

For adults interested in Becoming Catholic, the RCIA program prepares those who have not yet received some or all of their sacraments of initiation from Baptism through Confirmation.
