Fidelis is a Parish-based Catholic mentoring program for girls from
6-12th grade dedicated to equipping young women to be virtuous members of their community through True Mentorship.
Volunteer mentors from Belmont Abbey seek holiness in their own lives, build friendships with the young ladies, and then mentor with excellence. It is a simple formula - but has been a proven success.
The program's curriculum focuses on diving into the four cardinal virtues as well as the theological virtues in an effort to show young women how they can be integrated and strengthened in their daily lives. Fidelis Chapter meeting include contemporary movie clips and recreation to introduce the virtues. Small group discussions are infused with the Sunday Gospel and other Catholic resources adding substance and history to the topic of each night. The meetings end with a spiritual Challenge to help the young women transform what they have learned into a lifelong habit.
This year, we will begin in August.
Meetings are every Monday from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at the
St. Michael's school gymnasium in Gastonia.
