Catechists

At the end of his earthly ministry, Jesus said: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, ... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Mt 28:19-20).

By teaching the next generation about the Good News, you are fulfilling your part of the Great Commandment. It may be the most important thing you will ever do.

Diocesan Educational Opportunities

Protecting God's Children - stay up-to-date!

Catechists

We begin with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium for 3-5 year olds, and yearly education continues through eighth grade.

To assist parents in their duty to educate their children in the faith, St Dorothy's provides assistance with a family-based Faith Formation program for children in first through eighth grade.

No formal teaching experience is necessary to assist - just  a love for children and for the truths of our holy Catholic faith. You must be a currently practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, undergo a background check, and complete the Diocesan Protecting God's Children course.  All those who wish to serve will be approved by the pastor, Fr Miller.

Catholic Kids Connect sessions begin in September - Sundays 10:30-11:45am for grades 1 through 5 and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium for ages 3-5; and Wednesday evening 7:00-8:30pm for grades 6 through 8 - and end in early June.

Should you feel called to assist in the formation of our young people, please contact  Meg Barrett, or call the Parish office at
